Decking Lights and Walkover Lights

Decking is a very popular garden design feature these days, but it can look very dull at night. Walkover lights and decking lights make it magical, not dull and really make the area more enjoyable and practical throughout the hours of darkness as well as during the day. It looks especially elegant if the path leading to the decking is lit with walkover lights, so the whole pathway is lit with a subtle glow.

Walkover lights come in either a round or square shape and are lit by either LED clusters or more conventional bulbs. The eco-friendly bulbs fit perfectly and with their long lifespan are pretty low on maintenance. Some of the walkover lights we have here at Lighting Majestic are strong enough to even drive over; although all are made to very exacting standards, it is still a good idea to check before buying if you intend to embed these lights in the driveway that they are suitable for their purpose.

If you are lucky enough to have a hot tub in the garden, deck lights and walkover lights really come into their own. The whole hot tub experience relies on simplicity of use and picking your way through a dark garden and then slipping around on wet and ill-lit decking is not really in the spirit of entertaining or relaxation. By lighting the way to the tub and then scattering deck lights around the area, the mood will be romantic and atmospheric.

Decking lights are extremely easy to fit, even after the decking has been laid, although clearly much easier if done beforehand. Walkover lights are also quite easily installed, depending on the type of surface, but they lend themselves very well to brick drives and paths, as the bricks can be lifted to allow embedding of the lights and the running of the cable. This also means that any maintenance will not be too disruptive. A particularly elegant walkover light in the range is the circular one which is lit by blue LEDs. This makes any garden magical and will make any evening spent outside relaxing after a hard day seem like an evening in fairyland.
