Norlys is a company which has its origins in Scandinavia and therefore all of their lighting range is designed to withstand the most appalling weather conditions the climate of that part of the world can dish out. Everything is designed to the most exacting standards and low temperatures, high winds and wet conditions are no problem for anything manufactured by Norlys. All metal surfaces are coated many times with the finish so that they can live up to the very long 25 year anti-corrosion guarantee which comes with every piece. If appropriate, all fixings are made of galvanised steel and will last as long as the main fitment.

The range is very extensive and covers all the outdoor light fittings you could possibly need. The wall lights are in many different styles and the naming system is a good clue to the design. The ones named after major Scandinavian cities are typical of the designs found in the area, with very minimalistic and elegant lines, globes and thick supporting stems, as well as round flush lights. The more traditional styles have the names of other European cities, with London and Chelsea being represented by classic lanterns and rather rococo lights being named after Italian cities such as Firenze.

The ceiling light ranges are also traditional, and can be paired with the lanterns for wall mounting and there is an unusual design not seen in many ranges, that of the typical Chinese lantern, with its lovely exotic lines. A particularly nice piece in the range of ceiling lights is the Nordlund, a flush style fitting which would look great mounted in the ceiling of the entrance of a very modern house. Matched with some of the block lights available from Norlys, which can be mounted in or on the wall or even pointing down if mounted under the eaves, this would look stunning.

Most of the bollard lights available in the range are very strongly built with vandal-resistant globes and light coverings, as well as being 100% glare proof, providing very safe indirect light to guide your guests. Most products in the range are made from galvanised steel, but there is a very elegant wood effect fitting to look out for, which would blend very nicely with a shrubbery patch or flower garden. The pole lights in the range are very varied in design, from the classic Chelsea through to the globular Bologna and the elegant inverted saucer of the Lund.
