Post Lights

Outdoor post lights come in a wide range of sizes, from very small ones which could be fitted on a gatepost or wall to lamppost sized ones and in most cases they come from a range which will match with other lantern styles in the other ranges we have here at Lighting Majestic. Outdoor lighting is a very easy way of enhancing your property and it certainly is a great security feature as well as being safer for your guests, especially if you have an uneven pathways, driveways or steps.

Post lights have lantern style tops as a rule, but some of these are quite modern in style, for example the Smoked Diffuser style has a globe held in a metal casing, which has a futuristic aesthetic. Some of the taller posts have double, triple or quadruple lanterns and can be used to light quite a considerable area. With eco-friendly bulbs which will not need constant changing, these post lights are very low maintenance and will only need a rinse off every now and again, perhaps in spring to wash off the winter grime.

Outdoor post lights are very stylish and if placed at the edge of a patio area to illuminate your garden area for practical and entertainment reasons. The light is not a glare but rather a pool of gentle illumination, so it is really relaxing to sit out in the evening when the weather is warm. Even a chilly evening can be fun if you have a patio heater and if this is a fire pit or chimenea, the smoke wafting across the beams of light from your outdoor post lights will be very romantic and atmospheric.

Outdoor post lights are not hard to fit, but you should really get some advice from a reputable qualified electrician before including them in your outdoor light plan. If you are planning a new lighting scheme in your garden, allow for the maximum number of lights you are likely to need and even if you can't afford them all at once, your installer will be able to lay the cable and then isolate those not yet in place. This will make extending their range easier when you are in a position buy the rest of the fittings. And don't forget to allow for adding lanterns in the porch, conservatory or hall as most of the post lights available from Lighting Majestic are also in the indoor range as well.
